SLJ DAY 3 AWESOME ANIMALS Activity 2: The Secretive Skink

Activity 2: The Secretive Skink [4 points]
We have a number of small lizards (geckos and skinks) living in New Zealand. One of the least common is the Chevron Skink. According to the Department of Conservation, Chevron Skinks live mostly on two islands - Great Barrier Island and Little Barrier Island. These islands are ‘animal reserves.’ Very few people, other than staff working for the New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC), are allowed to live there. The DOC staff are called ‘Rangers.’ Their job is to protect the wildlife (animals and plants) living on the island.
Would you like to be a DOC ranger and live with the animals on Great Barrier Island?

On your blog list three pros (good things) and three cons (bad things) about working as a DOC ranger. At the bottom of your post, tell us whether you would like to be a DOC Ranger or no

I think it would be great to be a DOC ranger because it looks fun and exciting to protect and see
such great animals.

Task description: for this task i have had to list the 3 pros(good things) the 3 cons( bad things)
about being a DOC ranger. here are my 3 con and 3 pros.

  1. Kia ora & Namaste Hilary,
This is another solid post from you, well done! I like it because the poster you created made your key points very clear and easy to read.
I always thought that I would love to work as a Doc ranger to be able to protect our native land and animals. Also, as a DOC ranger I could get to work in beautiful places around New Zealand such as the Great Barrier Island an that would be really awesome! However, I think it can be a very tough job as well specially during winter and rainy days. Furthermore, it would be quite lonely and isolate don't you agree?
When I am unsure about something I like to make list of pros and cons because it quite often helps me to see the situation more clearly. Have you use pros and cons list for any other situation in your life?
Keep up with the great work and be amazing!
    Kia kaha,
    Patricia
