DNA. NOTES

NOTES:

How are DNA , chromosomes and genes are related.

Cell-can only be seen under a microscope because cells are so tiny.

Work like tiny factories.

Nucleus-center of the cell/brain. Nucleus-chromosome-dna

Chromosome is in the nucleus and the DNA in the chromosome.-chromosome contains D.N.A

-Chromosome-humans have 23 sets of chromosomes  .

-each chromosome contains different information

Dna- A T C G -dna is made up of 4 different bases-it also holds protein.

CG g joins with c.  TA- GC -when combined it =word

gene=chapter         codon=word - dozens,hundreds and thousands of bases

-same as a chapter-Gene = sequence of dna.

When 3 groups come together they become a word.

-groups of groups.

-a group of genes makes up our chromosomes.

-Chromosome-gene 1 /gene 2 =BOOK. 

 All chromosome=series of book

Chromosome(book series)-gene(chapter) -codon(words)-4 bases

4 Bases-A,T,C,G

A FIRE FLOATING TEABAG! Tea Bag rockets

Today in room 4 literacy we did a little sience exsperiment on a teabag with our class mate Terry
and Mrs Stone. Mrs stone and Terry had 2 empty tea bags they lit up the top of the tea bag with a lighter on a chair to be honest i was a bit scared i thought that the class was gonna burn down or even the chair but it didn't it was a relief. The 2 tea bags were lit up on fire and were floating up to the ceiling
really quicly than it just all turned into dust.the exsperiment was about 57 seconds long that was pretty short experiemt .

after that short experiement i wondered how the tea bag was able to float up it was able to float up because the air was heated up by the fire so that made energy for the Teabag to float up. It had more energy than the cold air outside it.

Manaiakalani 2017

On Wednesday 8th of november we had an Annual Film Festival at sylvia park in the event cinemas. The film festival is for all manaiakalani schools.

The manaiakalani Film festival is one of my Favorite annual event we have every year. The Film festival is

About making cool film’s and watching it with everyone.

we had to go with the seniors after all the juniors go because if we watched the whole school’s videos we be there for hours that's is why we all go separately .

When the juniors got back we went into the busses and went to the event cinemas to watch the senior films and ours.

When we got there we had to walk responsibly because there were a lot of people there because we went to the event cinemas at sylvia park then we got to go up to the event cinemas.

We got inside the cinemas and finally got to watch the films but we had to watch them with saint patrick's school. My favorite film was ask your aunty and our class film was burger ring boy when we finished we went outside and waited for the bus. Then the bus arrived , We all went in the bus back to school and we started eating lunch then all of us got comment on the cool awesome manaiakalani films.
